james bond cornell link that I knew nothing about...
so...
in the james bond movie "the man with the golden gun", our illustrious womanizing spy and all around cool guy launches an amc hornet off of a ramp into a 360 degree barrel roll and lands it safely on its wheels.
apparantly, before this happened there was something called the 'cornell aeronautics laboratory'. Apparantly, they had nothing better to do than figure out how cars behaved during rollovers. On computer, they devised a stunt that involved said car doing said barrel roll and landing safely, as explained.
Some stunt driver named W. Jay Milligan got all hired and stuff to do the stunt, which Texas decided had to be the first ones to do it. It was after this showcase that Milligan was contacted by James Bond movie makers to do the stunt in thailand for "the man with the golden gun".
Do you not feel vastly more informed now?
